ABOUT ME
With a heavy background in liberal arts and training as a musician and writer, I was born with a passion for art. My aesthetic is simply passion, with a fine arts feel. The moments in between shots, when a child's nose crinkles with laughter or a mother of the bride wipes hidden tears from her eyes. I love capturing off guards and candid photos. It is my philosophy that the real beauty in life lies where we're not searching for it.
For a long time, I felt a tinge of pain and a sad longing when I thought about not being able to finish my English degree. Being a writer, I felt like less of an intellectual or less successful because that was the dream I couldn't finish. But then I look at the art that I'm creating, and understand it to be poetry in a different form. I hear music in my photographs. I always told my flute teacher that I could hear poetry in Bach. That the rhythms exist simultaneously between played verse and written verse. In photographs, I feel like I can hear the chords of something beautiful. Through my photography, I truly feel like I can connect both worlds. Creating is art is what I was born to do.
